Dr. Robert K. McNurlen, D.D.S.
Dr. Bob McNurlen grew up in the Des Moines area. He is a graduate of Drake University and the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he received numerous academic and clinical awards. After completing a general practice residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, he returned to Des Moines to practice. Dr. McNurlen’s many areas of interest include cosmetics, the restoration of dental implants, and the many advantages that technology has brought to modern dentistry.
A life member of the American Dental Association, Dr. McNurlen has served as president of the Des Moines District Dental Society and as a board trustee for the Iowa Dental Association. Dr. McNurlen has achieved fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry. Friendly, caring, and meticulous, Dr. McNurlen looks forward to seeing his many loyal patients at their regular visits. He has excellent relationships with the very talented dental specialists in the area. He spent several years working on the Iowa Dental Association’s Peer Review Committee, and he has served as a dental expert in numerous legal cases.
Dr. Bob has two grown daughters. In his spare time, Dr. Bob enjoys working on automobiles and creating new recipes for pies and cookies to share with his friends and colleagues!
Dr. Austin M. Steil, D.D.S.
Dr. Austin Steil was raised in the Cedar Rapids area. A graduate of Loras College, he received his dental degree from the University of Iowa. Prior to joining our team, he practiced general/family dentistry in Galveston, Texas, so he is getting used to the Iowa winters again! Dr. Steil enjoys all areas of general practice. He and Dr. McNurlen have similar approaches to patient care. His dental skills and personality are an excellent fit with our office.
Dr. Steil enjoys woodworking, construction projects, playing with his dog, and spending time with his wife. He and his wife live in Waukee and are expecting their first baby.
